I purchased the Garmin nüvi 1350LMT (4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Map & Traffic Updates) upon moving to a highly congested and confusing area of Southern California, with which I was very unfamiliar. The Garmin has been a lifesaver toward helping me feel safe while learning the new area. It was immediately easy to use and set up. The graphics are very clear. I personally set up the vocal commands to “Jack’s” voice and he has not proven to be annoying so far, as some reported might happen (now, “Jill,” on the other hand, might be moreso, but Jack’s been fine). On a couple of occasions, Jack has been a little more delayed than usual in issuing voice commands for some reason (I haven’t figured out why yet), but he hasn’t gotten me lost and he’s kept me out of trouble. To-date, the directions have been accurate and the recalculations have been correct when I’ve needed them. I would definitely recommend this product. I also purchased the Garmin Portable Friction Mount GPS holder for the dashboard, which I like using much better than affixing the device to the windshield; it’s personally easier for me to see and read the screen when it’s mounted on the dash.
